Practical preparation — documents, health, packing and what to expect on arrival.

Documents
- Passport with sufficient validity remaining — CLIENT: confirm the current requirement
- Vaccination records as required by the Saudi authorities at the time of travel
- Photographs to current specification
- Any documentation required for accompanying family members
Requirements change. We confirm the current list with you at the time of booking rather than relying on what was true last season.
Health
You will walk more than you expect, often on marble and often in heat. Comfortable footwear, sun protection and a realistic assessment of your own stamina all matter. Speak to your doctor about any medication you take regularly and carry it in its original packaging with a copy of the prescription.
Packing
- Ihram garments and a spare set
- Unscented toiletries
- Comfortable, well broken-in footwear and a bag to carry it in
- A refillable water bottle
- Modest, breathable clothing for the days either side
- Medication, with prescriptions
- A small amount of local currency for the first day
What to expect on arrival
Airports are busy and processing can be slow, particularly in peak season. Your group coordinator will meet you and transfer you to your accommodation. Rest before you go to the Haram — there is no benefit in arriving exhausted.
